Job Description:

Positions will include various duties and responsibilities such as manual and unskilled labor, cutting grass, weed whacking, picking up trash, lawn maintenance, etc.

Under the direction of the Public Works Director or his designee, performs varied types of manual and unskilled laboring work. Performs related duties as required.

Complete job assignments, such as but not limited to: power washing; painting; spackling; waxing floors; moving office furniture; digging trenches, pulling wires; cleaning gutters; washing/cleaning trucks and equipment; bulk item collection; tree trimming operations; loading, lifting, and moving supplies and equipment; delivers packages; delivers mail, replenishes paper supplies; cleans bathroom facilities; cleans township buildings; replenishes toiletry products; cuts grass, trims hedges; weeds flowerbeds; collects trash and recyclables; and assists with leaf collection. Also, may assist in emergency operations as directed, including but not limited to natural disasters such as hurricanes or flooding. Keeps records as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Have a valid New Jersey driver's license and be at least 18 years old.
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Be able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Be on your feet during entire scheduled work day

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently enough to perform the duties of this position.
  • Ability to understand, remember, and carry out oral and written directions.
  • Be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation, without endangering the health and safety of themselves or others.
